Counterfeits Info & FAQ’s

I monitor the marketplace for infringements due to concerns about having my work confused with copycats, infringements, counterfeits or other unauthorized use.

  1. When I report unauthorized use, the supplier/retailer/seller did not ask for permission to: sell, distribute or display the designs. I receive no compensation for such use.

  2. If you were sent a take down notice, I investigated and concluded that it was unauthorized.

  3. I issue take down notices for any unauthorized occurrences.

  4. If you are frustrated with a takedown notice, your frustration is valid, direct it at the responsible party - the party that sold you the product. You should ask for a refund. Please do not direct your anger at me the artist who was a victim of each unauthorized sale.

  5. Printed vinyl “leather” is commonly imported. It is a PVC plastic also known as: faux leather, vegan leather, synthetic leather, leatherette, artificial leather, pleather

  6. Import consumer products are legally required to go through CPSC testing to prove safe levels of phthalates or any other synthetic toxic material to provide a certificate of safe levels in a consumer product. I do not allow my designs to be on products that have not undergone this testing.

  7. I do not license any designs for imported printed vinyl “leather” which means that ALL printed vinyl “leather” with any of my designs are ALL counterfeits.

  8. I have limited licensing partnerships for imported products in general so if I determined that the product was an infringement there is certainty in this.

  9. I observe other well known artists popular designs spotted on imported vinyl leather unbeknownst to them.

  10. I recommend buying from reputable sellers that have done their due diligence to obtain permissions to use the designs that they are selling.
